NWO Rubicon fellowships 2018 open for applications

NWO presents the first Rubicon round of 2018. The upcoming deadline for submitting applications is March 29, 2018. The aim of the Rubicon programme is to encourage talented researchers at Dutch universities and research institutes run by KNAW and NWO to dedicate themselves to a career in postdoctoral research. The total amount for the three funding rounds this year is € 6.835 million, € 2.28 million each. Deadlines for the second and third round are August 30 and November 29, 2018.

Rubicon offers researchers who have completed their doctorates in the past year the chance to gain experience at a top research institution outside the Netherlands for a maximum period of two years. There is also a limited opportunity to apply for a research period at an excellent Dutch research institute. 

Applications can be submitted via four clusters.

• Science;
• Social Sciences and Humanities (SSH);
• Applied and Engineering Sciences (AES); and
• Health Research and Medical Sciences (ZonMw).

Given the limited number of applications submitted to the AES domain, these applications will be assessed together with the applications submitted to the Science domain by a multidisciplinary committee.
