Muscular Dystrophy Association Research Grants Programs - Spring review 2015 ($ 300,000)

The Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) invites applications for the Spring review of its Research Grants Programs. Deadline of submissions for the Letter of Intent is December 15, 2014. Applications can be submitted for Research Grants and Development Grants. Grants are awarded for one to three years. Research Grants are typically in the amount of about $ 100,000 per year. For Development Grants funding is up to $ 60,000 per year.

MDA's investment priority is to fund $ 17 million in 250 different research projects worldwide in 2014. Research Grants make up the bulk of MDA’s awards each year.

MDA supports research aimed at developing treatments for the muscular dystrophies and related diseases of the neuromuscular system. These are the muscular dystrophies (among which are Duchenne and Becker); motor neuron diseases (including ALS and SMA); the peripheral nerve disorders (CMT and Friedreich's ataxia); inflammatory myopathies; disorders of the neuromuscular junction; metabolic diseases of muscle as well as other myopathies.
