Louis-Jeantet Prize for medicine 2014 (CHF 700,000)

The Louis-Jeantet Foundation invites nominations for its Louis-Jeantet Prize for medicine. The deadline is February 15, 2013. The prize is awarded each year to experienced researchers who have distinguished themselves in the field of biomedical research in Europe. The main fields of research that are promoted are physiology, biophysics, structural biology, biochemistry, cellular and molecular biology, developmental biology and genetics. The award has notably supported outstanding work on immunology, virology, bacteriology, neurobiology and in clinical epidemiology. The prize is endowed with CHF 1.4 million. Each prize-winner receives CHF 700,000, of which CHF 625,000 are to be used for financing ongoing research and CHF 75,000 are given to the researcher personally.

The primary goal of the Foundation is to award annual prizes aimed at encouraging and financing the best European research projects in medicine, both clinical and fundamental, especially as regards oncology, cardiovascular diseases and any other illness threatening mankind.
