First call for proposals by ERA-CAPS open (€ 250,000)

The first ERA-CAPS call for proposals has been launched. Deadline for submission of proposals is February 15, 2013. The call entitled “Expanding the European Research Area in Molecular Plant Sciences” will fund high quality collaborative transnational research in fundamental molecular plant science.

Sixteen ERA-CAPS partner organisations or ERA-CAPS associated organisations from fifteen countries will participate in this call. From the Netherlands NWO takes part in ERA-CAPS. Its division Earth- and Life Sciences (ALW) provides a budget of € 1 million. ERA-CAPS is part of the NWO Theme “Agro, Food and Horticulture” and is part of NWO’s efforts within the scope of the “Topsector Horticulture and Starting Materials”. Funding can be granted in order to cover all reasonable, non-infrastructural costs of research for a maximum period of 3 years, up to € 250.000 per new and additional research position involved. ERA-CAPS is an ERA-NET from the Seventh Framework Program (FP7) for Coordinating Action in Plant Sciences.
