Parkinson's - Michael J. Fox Foundation Funding Opportunities in 2017
The Michael J. Fox Foundation (MJFF) invites applications for different funding programmes, fellowships and prizes, among which the Target Advancement Awards, the Therapeutic Pipeline Program, the Edmond J. Safra Fellowship and the Alpha-synuclein Imaging Prize. Funding is up to $ 4 million. The MJFF works tirelessly to accelerate promising research toward clinical testing and breakthroughs for Parkinson’s patients.
- Target Advancement Awards: 1-year grants, $ 100,000;
- Therapeutic Pipeline Programme: $ 100,000 - $ 500,000;
- Improved Biomarkers and Clinical Outcome Measures Programme: up to $ 4 million;
- Targeted Pathway RFA for Mitochondrial Biomarkers: 1-2 year grants, up to $ 200,000;
- The Edmond J. Safra Fellowship in Movement Disorders: $ 90,000 per fellow per year;
- Alpha-synuclein Imaging Prize: $ 2 million.
Deadline for the Edmond J. Safra Fellowship is December 6, 2017. For hte Alpha-synuclein Imaging Prize, there is no deadline for submissions. Deadline for the other programmes is September 27, 2017.
The strong emphasis of the MJFF is on funding translational and clinical research. It also supports high-risk/high-reward discovery work to help keep new ideas flowing into the drug development pipeline.
