Spinal Cord - Wings for Life grants 2015 (€ 200,000)

The Wings for Life Spinal Cord Research Foundation invites applications for Individual Grants and Project Research Grants. Deadline for submitting an executive summary is September 1, 2014. The closing date for the full grant application is November 3, 2014. The salary for an Individual Grant is up to € 57,000 (for a maximum of one year). The maximum sum of a project grant is € 100,000 (for a maximum of two years).

Wings for Life aims to support basic and clinical research related to spinal cord injury. Research projects may address all aspects of spinal cord lesions, nerve regeneration, trophic support of injured neurons and functional changes induced by lesions (preferentially in mammals). Proposals should have a view to translation from the laboratory to the clinical setting and have the potential to provide real benefits to human patients. Clinical research projects can be situated in the fields of diagnosis, acute lesion management (including surgery), neurology, urology, rehabilitation and other areas related to paraplegia. Here you can find a map of recently funded projects.

Please note that apart from the Individual and Project Research Grants, there is also funding available for funding of translational studies and early stage clinical trials. Scientists intending to apply for these last two opportunities are requested to contact Wings for Life beforehand for detailed funding options, given a flexible funding format.
