2019 EURIPIDES/PENTA Synchronised Call will be launched on 20 November 2018.
PENTA and EURIPIDES seek to support the creation of partnerships along the Electronics Components and Systems value chain, enabling the transition from research to commercial exploitation (TRL 2-8). In 2019 for the first time, PENTA and EURIPIDES announce a synchronised call. The call will be launched at EFECS in Lisbon on November 20, 2018. Deadline for submitting project outlines (PO) is March 1, 2019.
All proposals will be submitted through the PENTA/EURIPIDES² Project Zone, with applicants being given a simple choice in terms of which programme they are submitting their project to. Evaluation processes will be organised and coordinated depending on how the project is submitted. In general, the choice should be made with regards to the community (PENTA or EURIPIDES²) involved. Specifically, regarding the domains:
- PENTA addresses the whole electronics value chain from design, through device manufacture to applications;
- EURIPIDES² focusses on electronic systems, integration, packaging and reliability;
- Co-labelled proposals should only be chosen if the proposal is fairly ambitious in terms of budget (e.g. more than € 5 million) and generally where they involve countries supporting either PENTA and not EURIPIDES² or vice versa, thereby requiring a mixed funding approach. Before ticking the co-labelled box, partners must indicate why a co-label is requested and get an approval from both the PENTA and EURIPIDES² support teams.

The PENTA, EURIPIDES² and PENTA/EURIPIDES² label is endorsed by all EUREKA Member Countries and financial support can be provided according to national funding procedures. National applications for funding should be submitted after labelling (or earlier dependent on national procedures). Since the deadline for such submissions varies from country to country, each project partner (or each consortium’s national contact person) should get in touch with the relevant public authority’s contact person well in advance to know the deadline, the information to be gathered and/or the forms to be filled in.
