Call CGIAR Public-Private Partnership and Research Uptake Expert published

NWO has published the call Public-Private Partnership (PPP) and Research Uptake Expert in the CGIAR Research Programme. Deadline for submitting proposals is October 18, 2018. The expert should be a senior with an academic background (MSc/Ma/PhD), have at least ten years of working experience, and be employed by a Dutch university or (applied) research or development organisation. Funding is up to € 300,000, for a period of 36 months.

The Netherlands - CGIAR partnership aims to enhance international agricultural research in view of contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals. Successful partnering of CGIAR Research Programmes, Platforms and Centers with Dutch research organisations is one of the objectives of the strategic partnership. This tender for a PPP expert is aimed at increasing the role of the private sector (for-profit and not-for-profit) in CGIAR Research Programmes (CRPs) and Platforms. The tender is financed by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs and implemented byNWO-WOTRO.

 

The call for a PPP expert seeks to support the overall The Netherlands-CGIAR partnership to jointly enhance International Agricultural Research (IAR) with a view to contributing to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs); to optimise the effectiveness of Dutch IAR knowledge, innovation and research capacities by enhancing leverage and strengthening linkages to the CGIAR System in combination with linkages to the private sector; to answer to CGIAR’s interest in mobilising partners for the best science and along the research impact pathways towards development outcomes by providing opportunities to engage private partners for advanced research, reach, and impact.

 

The candidate should have experience with initiating and implementing PPPs. The applicant is expected to submit a proposal for an action plan, which will be further developed within the first three months of the assignment.
