NWO WOTRO publishes 2nd call SDG research initiative
NWO-WOTRO Science for Global Development has published a new call Tackling Global Challenges through Use-Inspired Research. Deadline for submitting proposals is September 4, 2018. The call aims to contribute to tangible solutions for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in one or multiple LMIC(s). The total budget available is € 8 million. Funding is up to € 1 million.
For each research project with a duration of four years, a maximum budget of € 0.5 million will be made available. When two of the co-funding research organisations work together within one project, the maximum budget for such a project can amount up to € 1 million.
Applications can be submitted by a senior researcher employed by (one of ) the co-funding research organisations. The main applicant must collaborate in a consortium formulating and executing the project and consisting of at least:
- one of the co-funding Dutch research organisations; and
- one research organisation or practitioner organisation located in the LMIC(s) that is (are) targeted.
The co-funding Dutch research organisation are: Delft University of Technology, Leiden University, Maastricht University, University of Amsterdam, Utrecht University, University of Groningen, VU University Amsterdam en Wageningen University & Research.
