Hendrik Muller Prize open for nominations

The Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW) invites nominations for the Dr Hendrik Muller Prize for 2019. Deadline for submissions is June 15, 2019. The prize of € 25,000, is awarded every two years to a mid-career researcher working in the Netherlands, who has a sustainable link with the Netherlands and has made an outstanding contribution to the humanities or social sciences.

The new prize was established in 2019 by the Dr Hendrik Muller's Vaderlandsch Fonds Foundation in The Hague. The prize is intended as a contribution to a research project at the laureate’s discretion.

The foundation is named after Dr Hendrik Pieter Nicolaas Muller (1859-1941), a Dutch businessman and diplomat. After a successful business career in Rotterdam, Dr Muller served as a diplomatic representative to Romania (1919-1924) and former Czechoslovakia (1924-1932). The Dr Hendrik Muller prize is the successor to the Dr Hendrik Muller Prize for Behavioural and Social Sciences, which was awarded from 1991 to 2017.
