Chemistry - Welch Award 2019

The Welch Foundation is looking for candidates for its Welch Award in Chemistry. Deadline for nominations is January 31, 2019. The purpose of the award is to foster and encourage basic chemical research and to recognise, in a substantial manner, the value of chemical research contributions for the benefit of mankind. The monetary amount of the award is $ 500,000.

Any person who has made important chemical research contributions which have had a significant, positive influence on mankind can be considered for the award. The award is intended to recognise contributions that have not previously been rewarded in a similar manner. Self nominations however, are not accepted.

The Welch Foundation, based in Houston, Texas, is one of the United States’ oldest and largest private funding sources for basic chemical research.
