NWO programme Quality of Life and Health open

NWO has published the programme Quality of Life and Health (QLH). Deadline for submitting preproposals is April 4, 2013. The programme must result in more knowledge about quality of life in relation to health and to better measurement instruments. The results must make a contribution to the development and evaluation of policy and innovations. QLH focuses on innovations in the healthcare sector. The research is targeted at groups for whom existing measurements are only applicable to a limited extent, such as children, psychiatric patients and patients with multiple disorders.

Applications can be submitted by experienced researchers in the humanities and medical sciences. Collaboration between researchers and external parties (public organisations and/or companies) is a condition for funding. The budget is about € 2.6 million, the maximimum funding is € 400,000 per research project.

The Quality of Life and Health programme has been developed by NWO Humanities in collaboration with ZonMw. It is a new programme within the NWO theme Healthy Living, and forms part of NWO's contribution to the Top Sector Life Sciences & Health, and in particular the roadmap Health Technology Assessment and Quality of Life.
