New call Innovative eScience Technologies for “Big Science” (eTEC-BIG) announced

NWO announces the new eScience call “Innovative eScience Technologies for Big Science (eTEC-BIG)”. This call has been jointly written by the Netherlands eScience Center and SURFsara. The two funding partners want to encourage research and development of innovative eScience technologies and software for Big Data use and analysis in the so-called "Big Science" research areas. On April 9 an information meeting will be organised at the Amsterdam Science Park for interested researchers.

Researchers at a Dutch research institution with expertise or collaborations in the area of "Big Science", such as astrophysics, chemistry, climate research, computational sciences, high-energy physics, radio astronomy, materials science, life sciences, or other areas may apply. Applicants can be technology-oriented researchers in these research areas or domain-oriented researchers from the ICT sciences such as data sciences or computer sciences. The eTEC-BIG 2019 round is financed by the Netherlands eScience Center en SURFsara. NWO Domain Science will realise the funding round.

Deadline for submitting pre-proposals is May 9, 2019. During the information meeting on April 9 in Amsterdam, eScience Center and SURFsara will provide more information about the call for proposals.
