Robotics - Silver (€ 333,000)

Silver (Supporting Independent LiVing for the Elderly through Robotics) has opened a call for tender. The main goal of the SILVER challenge is to develop new innovative robotic solutions that target assisting the elderly and those caring for them with personal activities of daily living. These robotics solutions will be able to take over all or part of the work of care givers. The new technologies and solutions are sought by using a Pre-Commercial Procurement (PCP) process. This PCP will result in framework agreement with three phases: Phase 1 Solution Exploration; Phase 2 Prototyping; and Phase 3 Test Series.

Up to 8 companies will participate in Phase 1: Solution Design (budget up to € 350.000, duration 6 months), up to 4 companies in Phase 2: Prototype development (budget up to € 720.000, duration 1 year) and up to 3 companies in Phase 3: Pre-Commercial small scale product/service development (budget up to € 1.080.000, duration 1 year). The last date to register in order to get access to the secure upload facility and the unique SILVER Tender Form is the 5th of June 2013 (the call is closed on June 12th 2013). For more information and documents please click here.

SILVER is a development project funded by the European Commission under the Seventh Framework Programme for research and technological development (FP7). SILVER has partners in Denmark, Finland, the Netherlands, Sweden and United Kingdom. The consortium includes research institutions and public sector organizations. The public procurers in the SILVER consortium are City of Västerås, Technology Strategy Board, NL Agency, Odense Municipality, City of Vantaa and City of Oulu.
