KNAW Visiting Professors Programme 2015 (€ 29,000)

The Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW) invites nominations for its Visiting Professors Programme. The next submission deadline is November 2, 2015. The Visiting Professors Programme is intended for excellent researchers who work outside the Netherlands and are willing to share their knowledge and experience with researchers in Dutch institutes.

The KNAW appoints a Visiting Professor for a period of one year and
during this year, the Visiting Professor has the possibility to work in the Netherlands for at least two weeks and at most four months in total. The time spent in the Netherlands during that year can be spread over a maximum of three visits.

The Academy funds a research budget and covers the Visiting Professor’s travel and accommodation expenses. The Dutch university acts as the host organisation. The grant per candidate consists of three parts:
• A grant for activities of € 4,000 per month actual presence of the candidate;
• A grant for accommodation (housing) with a maximum of € 2,000 per month actual presence of the candidate;
• A grant for travel costs for up to three visits during the year with a maximum of € 1,500 for candidates from Europe and a maximum of € 5,000 for candidates from outside Europe.

KNAW has established the Visiting Professors Programme to improve research in the Netherlands, to enable top researchers from abroad to work in the Netherlands, and to encourage collaboration and mutual learning. The programme was established in 2008.
