Nuffic opens Call for proposals for NICHE Joint Initiatives

In 2015 the NICHE programme has been extended with a new modality ‘the Joint initiatives’. A Joint initiative must be a follow-up to a NICHE project ended in 2015 or earlier. A Joint initiative aims to further strengthen higher education and TVET capacity in partner countries. The closing date for applications is February 2, 2016. The call has a budget of € 1 million. Only Joint initiatives in countries on the current NICHE country list are eligible for funding. For more detailed information and documents please click here.
 
The Netherlands Initiative for Capacity development in Higher Education (NICHE) is a Netherlands-funded development cooperation programme aimed at sustainable strengthening of higher education and technical and vocation education and training (TVET) capacity in partner countries, thus contributing to economic development and poverty reduction. The programme focuses on the countries and policy priorities identified in the Dutch bilateral cooperation programme. In line with the current development policy of the Netherlands NICHE focuses on four policy priorities: • Water; • Food security; • Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR); • Security and the rule of Law.
