Research Fund for Coal and Steel - specific call RFCS-2014

The Research Fund for Coal and Steel (RFCS) supports innovative research in the coal and steel sectors. RFCS provides funding for high quality research projects which support the competitiveness of the European Coal and Steel industries. The programme covers core production processes; new products and applications, quality control, utilisation and conversion of resources, safety at work; environmental protection by reduction of emissions from coal use and steel production, and social issues.

Every year around € 50 million is made available to universities, research centres and private companies to fund projects. RFCS contributes up to: 60% for research projects, 50% for pilot projects and demonstration projects and 100% for accompanying measures (in specific cases).
