European Foundation for the Study of Diabetes - new funding opportunities (€ 100,000)

The European Foundation for the Study of Diabetes (EFSD) has published new funding opportunities for this year. Deadlines are in June, July and September. In most cases, grants are up to € 100,000. EFSD offers support in all areas of diabetes research through a wide range of joint initiatives and stand-alone initiatives. Funding is available throughout the year.

The calls are the following:

EFSD European Research Programme on New Targets for Type 2  Diabetes supported by an educational research grant from MSD: grants are each of up to € 100,000. The duration of each award may be one year or longer, depending upon the needs of the project and as justified in the application. Deadline of submission is June 15, 2015;
EFSD/JDRF/Lilly European Programme in Type 1 Diabetes Research: grants are each of up to € 100,000. The duration of each award may be one year or longer, depending upon the needs of the project and as justified in the application. Applicants who have a larger funding requirement are also invited to apply to this programme, particularly if this relates to a clinical research project. In this case, the relevant financial requirements should not exceed € 400,000. Deadline of submission is July 1, 2015;
EFSD/JDS Reciprocal Travel Research Fellowship Programme 2015: up to four Fellowships will be awarded, each in the sum of up to € 50,000. Deadline of submission is July 1, 2015;
EFSD Research Programme in Microvascular Complications of Diabetes with the financial support of Novartis: grants are each of up to € 100,000 for hypothesis driven basic and clinical intervention projects. Deadline of submission is July 15, 2015;
EFSD/Lilly European Diabetes Research Programme: grants are each of up to € 100,000. The duration of each award may be one year or longer, depending upon the needs of the project and as justified in the application. Deadline of submission is September 1, 2015;
Available throughout the year: Albert Renold Travel Fellowships supported by Merck Sharp & Dohme (MSD): Each Fellowship will be for up to € 8,000.
