Two Europe for citizens calls open for proposals

The European Commission has launched two new calls for proposals for the Europe for citizens programme. The first call is published under strand 1: European remembrance 2019, the other under strand 2: Democratic engagement and civic participation: Town Twinning 2019 - round 1. Deadline for submitting proposals for both calls is February 1, 2019.

The budget for European Remembrance projects is estimated at € 4 million. Funding is up to € 100,000. The maximum project duration is 18 months. For Town Twinning the budget for 2019 is estimated at € 4.8 million. Funding is up to € 25,000. The maximum project duration is 21 days. The second deadline next year for Town Twinning is September 1, 2019.

 

The aim of the Europe for Citizens 2014-2020 programme is:

  • to contribute to citizens' understanding of the EU, its history and diversity;
  • to foster European citizenship and to improve conditions for civic and democratic participation at EU level;
  • to raise awareness of remembrance, common history and values;
  • to encourage democratic participation of citizens at EU level, by developing citizens' understanding of the EU policy making-process and by promoting opportunities for societal and intercultural engagement and volunteering at EU level.
