NIAS - Fellowships in the humanities and social sciences 2015/2016 (€ 3,800 p/m)

The Netherlands Institute for Advanced Study in the Humanities and Social Sciences (NIAS) invites applications for the Individual Fellowships and and Theme Groups Fellowships. Deadline for applications for the year 2015/2016 for scholars from outside the Netherlands is 15 April 2014 and for scholars from the Netherlands is 15 August 2014. For Theme Groups Fellowships the deadline is April 15, 2014.

Fellows are selected from prominent researchers and senior scholars in the humanities and social sciences who have already made a contribution to their field. Preference is given to
• applicants who propose an interdisciplinary project;
• a project that is closely related to an already externally funded project. 

A NIAS fellowship offers time to think and write as well as providing space to generate ideas and engage in cross-disciplinary collaboration with colleagues from around the world. Scholars from the humanities, the social sciences, and those working at the interface with other disciplines are invited. The duration of a fellowship is in principle a full academic year, running from 1 September till 30 June, or for one semester, i.e. from 1 September to 31 January or 1 February to 30 June.
