Joint call energy systems and the circular economy open

ERA-NET Bioenergy and ERA-NET COFUND Bioenergy Sustaining the Future (BESTF3) invite consortia to submit pre-proposals for the joint call Biomass as an important pillar within energy systems and the circular economy. Deadline of submissions is January 16, 2018. The call aims to support innovative, collaborative pan-European, R&D&I projects which contribute to a safe, environmentally friendly, reliable and economical energy supply. The Dutch funding is up to € 6 million per partner.

The funding amounts will be as high as in the programmes ‘Hernieuwbare Energie’. The Ministry of Economic Affairs will decide on the 2018 budget and conditions for this programme in December 2017 the latest. Specific Dutch requirements are:

• Dutch partners can only participate if their activities are related to installations that qualify for SDE+ subsidy in 2018 and result in savings in future SDE+ expenses which exceed the subsidy requested, due to a decrease in the base sum;
• For Dutch partners the filled out 'Rekenmodel Besparing SDE+ uitgaven 2018' is a compulsory annex to both the ERA-NET pre-proposal as the ERA-NET full proposal. If the Rekenmodel 2018 isn’t available online for the pre-proposal submission deadline you must use the Rekenmodel Besparing SDE+ uitgaven 2017 and use the SDE+ basisbedragen 2018;
• Consortia focusing on the production of electricity, heat and/or SNG (‘green gas’) will be requested to hand in an application for the programme ‘Hernieuwbare Energie’. An application for support for Dutch partners should be sent to RVO after the ERANET-Bioenergy full proposal of the consortium is recommended for subsidy

Transnational consortia include large companies, SMEs, research groups/organisations and/or stakeholder associations, depending on national funding rules. Besides the Netherlands, participating countries are Poland, Germany and Switzerland. Applications must be submitted to RVO. Deadline for submitting a full proposal is June 5, 2018.

A networking webinar will be organised on November 29, 2017 to give researchers the chance to interlink with each other and enlarge consortia. To sign up, applicants need to express their interest by sending an email to Carina Lemke at c.lemke@fnr.de at the Call Secretariat before November 22.
