Rockstart launches first European Smart Energy Accelerator

Rockstart invites early stage startups to apply for their new accelerator programme. The programme runs for an intensive period of 100 days during which the startups are closely coached by top-tier entrepreneurs, CEO’s and field experts. The 10 selected startups are offered € 20,000 in cash investment, and an additional in kind investment valued at around € 45,000 consisting of office space and other facilities, and intensive support from a network of mentors. This investment helps the teams stay focused and on track for Demo Day, where they can showcase their businesses to investors and media.

The international call is open to all startups that help reduce our energy /CO2 footprint. However, the main focus is on the intersection of I.T. and clean-tech, particularly in areas of: 
• Smart homes, meters and grids; 
• Collective and decentralized energy generation and distribution; 
• Awareness and energy reduction; 
• Mobility; 
• Energy trade.

Applications can be submitted between 16 September and 31 October 2013.
