Call to fund senior CGIAR-experts published
NWO has published the previously announced call Senior Expert Programme in the CGIAR Research Programme. Deadline of the first assessment round is July 5, 2018. Senior experts employed by Dutch research organisations and involved in CGIAR research or management, are offered a chance to spend (more) time on their CGIAR activities, since they will be able to apply for a grant that enables them to cover part of their personnel costs. The budget available is up to € 2,950,000.
The call aims to contribute to the mutual benefit of partnering by supporting the participation of Dutch research organisations in CGIAR. It funds part of the personnel costs of Senior Experts, employed at a Dutch research organisation who participate in a CGIAR Research Program (CRP) or Platform. These should have linkages to one or more of the following knowledge domains:
- Agriculture for nutrition and health;
- Sustainable and inclusive value chains and sectors;
- Genetic improvement and propagation materials;
- Climate smart agriculture.
Funding is up to € 300,000 for 3 years and for 0.5 fte can be requested. Proposals can be submitted by a Senior Expert employed at a Dutch research organisation who participates within a CGIAR Research Programme (CRP) or Platform with linkages to one or more of the four priority knowledge domains of the strategic partnership between CGIAR and the Dutch Government.
The Senior Expert Programme (SEP) is one of the four instruments in the Netherlands (NL) - CGIAR research programme. It is continuously open until February 27, 2020, or earlier in case the remaining budget is not sufficient.
