New DG Justice call in Rights, Equality and Citizenship Programme 2014-2020

The DG Justice of the European Commission has published a new call in the Rights, Equality and Citizenship Programme 2014-2020. Deadline of submissions of the call 'National or transnational projects aiming to promote Union citizenship policies' is February 4, 2015. The indicative available budget under this call for proposalswith identifierJUST/2014/RCIT/AG/CITI is € 1,500,000.


The call will support projects promoting Union citizenship, in particular facilitating the exercise of the right to free movement and the electoral rights deriving from the citizenship. The proposals under this call shall focus on the following priorities: 

To raise awareness and improve knowledge about the EU rules on free movement; 
To foster the successful inclusion and participation of mobile EU citizens in the host EU country's civic and political life.

The Rights, Equality and Citizenship Programme (RECP), a funding programme of DG Justice, contributes to the further development of an area where equality and the rights of persons, as enshrined in the Treaty, the Charter and international human rights conventions, are promoted and protected. Its nine specific objectives are to:

Promote non-discrimination;
Combat racism, xenophobia, homophobia and other forms of intolerance;
Promote rights of persons with disabilities;
Promote equality between women and men and gender mainstreaming;
Prevent violence against children, young people, women and other groups at risk (Daphne);
Promote the rights of the child;
Ensure the highest level of data protection;
Promote the rights deriving from Union citizenship;
Enforce consumer rights.
