Alpha-1 Foundation - Call Role of MicroRNAs in the Expression and Therapy of Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency ($ 300,000)

The Alpha-1 Foundation in Florida, USA invites applications for the call Role of MicroRNAs in the Expression and Therapy of Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency. Closing date for Letters of Intent is September 30, 2013. In several diseases, the study of microRNAs has demonstrated their diagnostic, prognostic and therapeutic potential. To date, interest in the roles of microRNAs in alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency has been limited in the investigator community. The purpose of this RFA is to fund research that directly addresses microRNA biology in alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency.

The Foundation intends to commit up to $ 300,000 ($ 150,000/year) over two years to fund one grant. An applicant may request support for a project with a period of performance of 1-2 years in length.

The Alpha-1 Foundation is dedicated to providing the leadership and resources that will result in increased research, improved health, worldwide detection, and a cure for Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency.
