Pre-announcement NORFACE call on democratic governance
NORFACE (New Opportunities for Research Funding Agency Co-operation in Europe announces a new transnational research programme on democratic governance. The main focus will be on understanding the precise nature of the recent turbulence in democratic politics and governance in Europe, how European states can negotiate it and how they can develop strategies to enhance the quality of democratic politics and governance. The call for proposals will probably be launched on December 3, 2018.
The research programme is structured around five of the most important challenges to democratic governance and politics: Inequality and redistribution; The evolving politics of threat; The democratisation of information; Shifting identities and representation; and The changing authority of institutions.
Proposals can be submitted on behalf of a project team comprised of at least three eligible research partners based in three or more different countries participating in the call. These countries include Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Ireland, The Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and United Kingdom.
The deadline for submitting an outline proposal is February 19, 2019. Please note that this date and the publication date may still change. The publication of the call will be announced primarily on the website of NORFACE.
