Seventh Symposium on Veterinary Rehabilitation and Physical Therapy, Vienna, Austria

Event date:
2012-08-15 The Seventh Symposium on Veterinary Rehabilitation and Physical Therapy will take place from 15 to 18 August 2012 in Vienna, Austria.

For thousands of years, animals have played a significant role in the lives of humans. Over the past decade dogs and other pets have played a larger role in society, and in some cases dogs and cats have become increasingly integrated, to the point where pets often actively shape how a family runs its home.

Research has shown that therapy can rapidly speed-up the healing process and help an animal return to its previous functional level much more safely and effectively than without intervention. The techniques and treatments are similar to those used in human therapy but are specifically adapted to animals.

For many years the benefits of physical therapy for animals have been widely accepted among the veterinary community. However, clinical practice of physical therapy for animals remains a relatively new field. The conference will aim to highlight cutting-edge research and knowledge in the fields of veterinary rehabilitation and physical therapy.

The event is intended to be a forum for researchers and professionals related to physical therapy, sports medicine, rehabilitation, surgery, orthopaedic, neurology, biomechanics and motion analysis.
