The deadline for submissions of the Copernicus Masters competition has been extended to July 20, 2015. The competition invites all interested participants to submit outstanding ideas, applications, and business concepts involving innovative uses of Earth observation data. Prizes worth € 300,000 will be awarded in topic-specific challenges sponsored by a number of world-class partners, like the European Space Agency (ESA), the German Aerospace Center (DLR) and T-Systems International GmbH.

Enterprises, scientific institutions, and individuals of legal adult age are entitled to participate in the Copernicus Masters 2015. The overall winner will receive (along with their challenge prize) € 20,000 in cash and a satellite data package worth a further € 60,000, which is being provided with the financial support of the European Commission.

The Copernicus Masters is designed to support the development of Copernicus-related entrepreneurship by eliciting and rewarding projects and business ideas that make use of Earth observation data primarily generated under the Copernicus programme. Participants can choice from various exciting topic-specific challenges in which major incentives will be awarded. New Challenges may be added while the competition is underway. Any additional Challenges will be announced on the competition website, which will always reflect the most current status.
