Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings 2019
The Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW) invites nominations for the Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings. In 2019 the meetings will be organised in the fields of physics. The 69th Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting will take place from June 30 to July 5, 2018. Deadline for nominating candidates is October 8, 2018. Universities, research institutes and professors in the Netherlands can nominate up to two young scientists under the age of 36.
Each year the Lindau Foundation organises a six-day meeting that brings together dozens of Nobel laureates and hundreds of outstanding young scientists from more than fifty countries. The Academy nominates Dutch students and post-docs to attend the meetings. The Lindau Committee selects the participants. The meetings are dedicated alternately to chemistry, to physics, and to physiology or medicine. Every five years the meeting is interdisciplinary in nature. Meetings focusing on the economic sciences take place every three years.
The meetings are intended to help build international networks and inspire younger generations of scientists to excel in their fields. The programme includes lectures by Nobel laureates, plenary discussions, workshops and social events.
