Neuroscienes - Eric Kandel Young Neuroscientists Prize 2015 (€ 75,000)
The Hertie Foundation in Germany invites nominations for its Eric Kandel Young Neuroscientists Prize. Deadline of submissions is November 1, 2014. The prize is awarded every two years to recognise the work of outstanding young scientists in the field of neuroscience and helps advance their careers as researchers. European neuroscientists under the age of 40 are eligible for this € 75,000 prize.
Candidates must have demonstrated outstanding and independent scientific creativity and productivity, as documented by multiple and excellent publications in leading scientific journals. They must be nominated by the head of their university/research institute or by an internationally renowned neuroscientist. Self-nomination is not possible.
The prize consists of two parts: the prize money of € 50,000 for the winner’s personal use and a sum of € 25,000 to set up a collaborative partnership or mentoring relationship so that the winner can work with one of the top global scientists in his/her field and receive career support.
The Hertie Foundation provides impulses for social action and promotes progress in the fields of neuroscience, European integration and education. In the field of neurosciences, the Hertie Foundation is the largest
private sponsor of brain research in Germany.
