Niemann-Pick - Edward H. Schuchman Research Fellowship 2014 ($ 100,000)

The National Niemann-Pick Disease Foundation (NNPDF) invites applications for its Edward H. Schuchman Research Fellowship. Applications are due May 1, 2014. The research fellowships examine the biology of Acid Sphingomyelinase Deficiency (ASMD), also known as Niemann-Pick Disease Types A and B, a lethal neurodegenerative disease for which there are no effective therapies. The fellowships provide support of $ 50,000 per annum for two years ($ 30,000 per annum for three years for predoctoral fellowships) and may be renewable based on performance. Applicants must be currently associated with a recognized laboratory. 

The National Niemann-Pick Disease Foundation is a non-profit organization that supports and promotes research to find a cure or treatments for all types of Niemann-Pick Disease and provides support services to individuals and families affected by the disease.
