Veni call for 2019 published

NWO has published the call for proposals for the Innovational Research Incentives Scheme Veni grant. Deadline for submitting pre-proposals for the domains Social Sciences and Humanities (SSH) and Applied and Engineering Sciences (AES) is August 28, 2018. For all domains the deadline for full proposals is January 8, 2019. The Veni grant offers researchers who have recently gained their PhDs the opportunity to further develop their ideas for a period of three years. The grant is up to € 250,000.

Since January 1, 2017, the NWO organisational structure consists of four domains, namely NWO-Science Domain (ENW), Social Sciences and Humanities (SSH), Applied and Engineering Sciences (AES) and Health Research and Development (ZonMw). The 2019 Veni round will be conducted by committees in five separate procedures: four which correspond with the domains and one cross-domain assessment procedure for proposals that cut across the boundaries of the four NWO domains.

The Innovational Research Incentives Scheme Veni, Vidi, Vici has been set up in 2000 by NWO, KNAW and the universities jointly. The aim is to promote innovation in the academic research field. The scheme is directed at providing encouragement for individual researchers and gives talented, creative researchers the opportunity to conduct their own research programme independently and promote talented researchers to enter and remain committed to the scientific profession.
