Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings

The Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW) invites nominations for the Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings. In 2014 there will be two Lindau Meetings dedicated to Psysiology/Medicine and Economic Sciences. Deadline for nominees in physiology/medicine is October 14, 2013. Deadline for nominations for candidates in economic sciences is November 18, 2013. The Academy funds the participation fee of the six day meeting of the candidates.

Each year the Lindau Foundation organises a six day meeting between thirty Nobel laureates and five hundred top young researchers from more than fifty countries. The Academy selects the Dutch top researchers. The meetings are dedicated alternately to chemistry, physics, and medicine/physiology. Every five years, the meeting is interdisciplinary in nature. Meetings in the economic sciences have taken place every five years since 2004. The Council for the Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings began organising this event in 1951. The KNAW has participated since 2008.
