European Crohn's and Colitis Organisation - Fellowships, Grants and Travel Awards 2014 (€ 40,000)

The European Crohn's and Colitis Organisation (ECCO) offers fellowships, grants and travel awards to encourage young physicians in their career and to promote innovative scientific research in IBD in Europe. The closing date for submitting applications is October 1, 2013.

• Fellowships have been created for individuals younger than 40 years who submit an original research project which they wish to undertake abroad in a European hosting laboratory and/or department. Fellowships are awarded € 40,000 each and are given during the annual ECCO Congress;
• Grants are created to support good and innovative scientific, translational or clinical research in Europe. ECCO Grants are awarded € 20,000 each and will also be given during the annual ECCO Congress;
• Travel awards are an opportunity for young investigators to visit different IBD centres in Europe, to learn scientific techniques or to be a clinical observer. Per ECCO Travel Award a total amount of € 1,500 will be awarded;
• N-ECCO Travel Awards provide IBD nurses with the opportunity to visit another European centre to observe nursing care, in recognition of the fact that observational learning is essential in enabling nurses to develop within a role. The same amount is provided as the ECCO Travel Award.
