CEF Transport Blending call budget increased
Following the amendment of the 2017 CEF Transport Multi-annual Work Programme adopted by the European Commission on 8 November 2017, a corrigendum to the 2017 CEF Transport Blending call has been published. The corrigendum has a particular impact in the priority 'Innovation and new technologies" in all transport modes'.
Changes are:
- Budget: The total amount of funding available for this call is being increased from € 1 billion to € 1.35 billion. The increase corresponds to a higher indicative budget for the priority "Innovation and New technologies" (from € 140 to € 490 million);
- Size of projects: with the corrigendum, the current requirement in terms of minimum total eligible costs for the project (in excess of €10 million) is being lowered for the proposals submitted under the priority 'Innovation and New technologies'. The new threshold is € 5 million;
- EFSI approval: in addition to projects with cross-border impact, projects addressing bottlenecks and projects in Cohesion Member-States, proposals submitted under the 'Innovation and New Technologies' priority will also be exempted from the conditionality on grant disbursement associated with EFSI approval.
The corrigendum is now available on the call page.
The Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) finances projects which fill the missing links in Europe's energy, transport and digital backbone. It will also make Europe's economy greener by promoting cleaner transport modes, high speed broadband connections and facilitating the use of renewable energy in line with the Europe 2020 Strategy.
