Call for Contributions IPIC 2018 open for abstracts
The International Physical Internet Conference (IPIC) invites contributions for the 5th IPIC which will take place from June 18-22, 2018 in Groningen, The Netherlands. The contributions should be in the form of a paper and/or poster presentation that includes a view on implementation, impact or directions for the Physical Internet concept in the next five years from now. The deadline for submitting the contribution abstracts for posters and papers is March 15, 2018.
The best papers and poster will be presented in special issues of professional / scientific journals and on the conference. The contributions are:
- a research paper/poster on, for example, conceptual research, assessment research, case study research, modelling and validation research;
- a white paper or case study description describing an application in practice;
- a report/poster describing the results of novel applications and technologies or innovative ideas and positions;
- resulting from a project jointly performed by an academic and industry partner.
IPIC 2018 aims to provide an open forum for researchers, industry representatives, government officials and citizens to together explore, discuss, introduce leading edge concepts, methodologies, recent projects, technological advancements, start-up initiatives, for current and future Physical Internet implementation. The conference will continue building on the successful 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017 conferences with up to 250 participants. Conference topics include interconnected logistics, PI fundamentals, business models, governance and implementation, cross-chain control, synchromodal transportation, IT systems, stakeholders and their roles. IPIC 2018 is hosted by the University of Groningen.
On the June 17, the Sunday prior to IPIC 2018, the first edition of the IPIC Doctoral Colloquium will take place. The Doctoral Colloquium is a one-day event aimed at developing and mentoring PhD students. This new platform provides an excellent opportunity for PhD students to receive in-depth feedback on their (ongoing) research (proposals) from fellow PhD students and leading academics in the field of Physical Internet. This colloquium aims to discuss, reflect on, and further develop submitted papers or research proposals in an informal setting. The Doctoral Colloquium is part of the fifth Physical Internet Conference and intended for PhD students who are also interested in attending IPIC 2018. The fee of the Doctoral Colloquium is included in the fee of the IPIC Conference. The deadline for submitting a paper for the Doctoral Colloquium is March 1, 2018.
