New NWO Security & Rule of Law call on Comprehensive Approaches to Human Security (€ 443,000)

NWO-WOTRO Science for Global Development published a new call within the research programme Security & Rule of Law. Deadline for submitting preliminary proposals is August 18, 2015. The call Comprehensive Approaches to Human Security seeks to support research projects that contribute to new evidence-based knowledge and insights on policies and intervention theories and strategies regarding inclusive, comprehensive approaches to human security in fragile and conflict-affected settings, in view of transnational security threats. The call is part of the Strategic Research Fund within the research programme Security & Rule of Law in Fragile and Conflict-Affected Settings.

Objectives are:

• Contributing to new evidence-based knowledge and insights on policies and intervention theories and strategies regarding inclusive, comprehensive approaches to human security in view of transnational security threats;

• Strengthening linkages between academia, policymakers and practitioners to facilitate the development of policies and interventions, thereby raising awareness and sharing the generated new insights and knowledge with relevant (inter-)national practitioners in different knowledge domains;

• Increasing the capacity of local actors to design such policies and identifying opportunities for capacity-building throughout the process.

Total budget of the call is € 2.7 million. Funding of a research project is up to € 443,000 for a project duration of 36 months. For projects with a project duration longer than 24 months, an additional € 15,000 for the mid-term workshop can be financed.

Deadline for submitting full proposals is December 1, 2015.
