Pre-annoucement joint call of Belmont Forum and BiodivERsA on scenarios of biodiversity

NWO will participate in a new joint call on biodiversity and ecosystem services, named BiodivScen. The call is expected to be launched on October 2, 2017 by the Belmont Forum and BiodivERsA. The deadline to submit pre-registrations will be in December 2017. The indicative global budget is € 25 million. NWO participates with a budget of € 800,000 and funds up to € 200,000 for a postdoc project. The duration of a Dutch project is up to 2.5 years.

Scientific teams must form transnational research consortia with teams from minimum three countries participating in the call.

Besides The Netherlands, the following countries have expressed a preliminary interest to participate: Argentina, Brazil (State of Sao Paulo), Bulgaria, Canada, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Ivory Coast, Lithuania, Norway, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, and the United States. Austria, Belgium and Portugal are also likely to participate. Their participation however still needs to be confirmed.
