Japan - Matsumae International Foundation Fellowship 2016/2017 (JPY 220,000 p/m)

The Matsumae International Foundation invites applications for its MIF Research Fellowship Program. Deadline for submissions is August 31, 2015. Researchers under the age of 49 are invited to Japan for six months during the period April 2016 to March 2017.

Fields of study such as natural science, engineering and medicine are given first priority. The financial support is ¥ 220,000 (circa € 1,566) per month, lump sum on arrival of ¥ 120,000 (circa € 854) plus insurance and air transportation costs. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. degree or be recognized by the Matsumae International Foundation as possessing equivalent academic qualifications. Furthermore they must have sufficient conversational ability in English or Japanese to prevent insurmountable difficulties during their research activities in Japan, and they should not have been in Japan in the past and/or in the present.
