Alzheimer's - Alzheimer's Research UK Pilot Project (£ 50,000)

The Alzheimer’s Research UK (ARUK) invites applications for its Pilot Project. Deadline for submitting applications is April 4, 2014.

The Pilot Project scheme provides funds for small innovative research projects and pilot studies. The scheme is meant for novel research ideas that if successful would lead to a major project or programme application to the ARUK or other funding body. It is not designed to cover funding shortages. The ARUK funds the full translational research pathway including the basic disease process, early detection, identifying risk factors, alleviation and mechanisms of symptoms and progress towards effective treatments in Alzheimer's and related dementias. Grants usually provide up to £ 30,000 for small innovative research projects and pilot studies. For projects involving inherently expensive techniques, such as imaging or animal work, it may be possible to apply for up to £ 50,000.

ARUK is the UK’s leading dementia research charity specialising in finding preventions, causes, treatments and a cure for dementia. ARUK has a large number of different grant schemes through which researchers can apply for funding.
