Foreign conferences - Van Walree Grant 2019

The Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW) invites proposals for the Van Walree Grant for medical students at a Dutch university who will be giving a presentation at a foreign conference. Upcoming deadline for grant applications to attend conferences is February 1, 2019. A annual budget of € 40,000 is available for this purpose. Medical students enrolled at one of the Dutch medical faculties may apply.

The Fund awards grants to medical students who have not yet taken their finals in medicine. The grant specifically allows them to attend a conference and present the results of the research they conducted during their research internship. The maximum grant per conference is € 1,000.

The Academy Van Walree Grant is named after Mrs E.M. van Walree. She bequeathed her estate to the Van Walree Fund, which was established in 1987 and is part of the Academy Medical Sciences Fund. The Fund also supports the Eureka Prize for Science Communication.
