New calls from the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation ($ 1,000,000)

The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) has a number of upcoming deadlines for its funding opportunities. Requests for Applications are open for Improved Assays for Predicting Risk for T1D, Studies Relevant to the Discovery and Development of Antigen Specific Therapies for Human Type 1 Diabetes, Strategic Research Agreements and Conference Grants. Funding levels differ.

These are all the upcoming deadlines:
• Improved Assays for Predicting Risk for T1D: Expression of Interest deadline: September 22, 2014. A maximum budget of $ 200,000 per year can be requested for up to 2 years of funding (including 10% indirect costs);
• Studies Relevant to the Discovery and Development of Antigen Specific Therapies for Human Type 1 Diabetes: Expression of Interest deadline: October 10, 2014. Innovative Grants are up to $ 110,000 (including 10% indirect costs) for one year only. Strategic Research Agreements (SRAs) are up to $ 250,000/year (including 10% indirect costs) for up to two years. Clinical grants for pilot trials are up to $ 1,000,000 total costs (including 10% indirect costs) for a maximum of 3 years;
• Strategic Research Agreements: Application Deadlines: November 10, 2014 and February 3, 2015. the amount of funding differs per project;
• Conference Grants: submit applications 3-6 months prior to meeting date: the amount of funding differs per project.
