ZonMw call for Hotel projects within the programme Enabling Technologies

ZonMw has published a new call within the programme Enabling Technologies. Deadline for submissions is October 1, 2013. The main goal of the programme Enabling Technologies is to provide public-private research projects an introduction to frontier applications of life sciences and technology, data integration and stewardship through a Hotel project. Within the Top sectors Life Sciences and Health (LSH), Agri&Food and Horticulture & Starting Materials (Tuinbouw & Uitgangsmaterialen), NWO Earth and Life Sciences (ALW) and ZonMw have made funds available for the call for Hotel projects. The Technology ‘Hotel’ concept entails that scientists (the guests) who do not have access to high-end technology, can obtain access to this technology/expertise via a service-oriented facility (the Hotel).

The call is open for committed public-private research projects, the Associated Project, that are carried out in the Netherlands in the area of the Topsectors mentioned above. In the context of this call, public-private research projects are those where at least one public and one private partner are contractually bound in a research collaboration, but which does not necessarily imply cash co-funding from the private partner. A minimum of € 750,000 is available through this call. The maximum budget that can be requested per Hotel project has been set at € 20,000, with the possibility of an additional maximum of € 10,000 for the integration of datasets generated within the Technology Hotel-project with data(sets) already available within the Associated Project.
