New FP7 call Food, Agriculture and Fisheries, and Biotechnology

The European Commission has published a new call for proposals for the theme Food, Agriculture and Fisheries, and Biotechnology (FAFB) under the programme 'Cooperation' of the 7th Research Framework Programme (FP7). Deadline for applications is October 1, 2013. The call FEEDTRIALS KBBE 2013 (FP7-KBBE-2013-FEEDTRIALS) has a budget of € 3 million. The duration of the proposed project shall be maximum 4 years.

The primary aim of funding the FAFB research theme is to build a European Knowledge Based Bio-Economy (KBBE). FAFB is built around three major activities':
• sustainable production and management of biological resources from land, forest and aquatic environments;
• fork to farm: Food (including seafood), health and well-being;
• life sciences, biotechnology and biochemistry for sustainable non-food products and processes.
