EIC Horizon prize 'Early Warning for Epidemics' published

The EC has published a new EIC Horizon Prize for 'Early Warning for Epidemics'. The prize aims to develop an early-warning system to help prevent disease outbreaks and reduce the impact should they occur. The deadline for registration of interest is May 31, 2020. Deadline of submissions is September 1, 2020. The budget available is € 5 million, of which one prize will be awarded.

The challenge of this IPr Inducement prize is to develop a scalable, reliable and cost-effective early warning system prototype to forecast and monitor vector-borne diseases in order to contribute to the prevention of outbreaks mitigating their impact on local, regional and global scales and providing support to existing elimination efforts.

The contest is open to any legal entity (including natural  or legal persons, including international organisations) or group of legal entities established in an EU Member State or in a country associated to Horizon 2020. Participants that have already received an EU or Euratom prize cannot receive a second prize for the same activities.
