NIAS - Fellowships in the humanities and social sciences 2019/2020

The Netherlands Institute for Advanced Study in the Humanities and Social Sciences (NIAS) invites applications for the Individual Fellowships. Deadline for applications for the year 2019/2020 for scholars from outside the Netherlands is April 15, 2018 and for scholars from the Netherlands June 1, 2018.

The fellowships are offered to scholars who wish to carry out advanced research in the humanities and the social sciences. For five or ten months, scholars are offered the time and space to work on a topic of their own choice. The maximum monthly replacement subsidy is up to € 3,800 for senior fellows and up to € 2,600 for junior fellows. 

Scholars must have at least 3 years of post-Ph.D. degree academic experience and have already made a considerable contribution to their field. If applicants were granted with an earlier fellowship at NIAS, they can apply for a new fellowship 10 years after finishing the first fellowship.
